Active Ride Shop - Justin “Figgy’ Figueroa Collection

Not Just Private Label.

Active Ride Shop’s namesake brand Active R/S continued to push the boundaries of what was viewed as “private label” in the eyes of retail. It wasn’t there to simply copy the other brands that were purchased for the storefronts but instead aimed to carve its own path and retain its own look and feel. As we continued to do this over the years, people and other brands took note. As we looked to push the brand further away from being a typicaly “private label” we earned to launch more sub-collections within the brand.

The first sub-division that we launched was that with lifelong Active Ride Shop skateboard, Justin “Figgy” Figueroa. Figgy had skated for the Irvine shop as his first sponsor as a young kid and had grown into one of the most loved and recognized skateboarders in the world.

When Figgy approached us at Active and wanted to skate for the “brand” and not just the “shop”, we jumped at the chance to make this happen.

For the next few years, Figgy would work with us on seasonal collections of apparel and graphics. His unique approach to his skateboarding and style could be seen and accessed at all of our shops and the outcome was many staple pieces that would change the landscape of what Active R/S was as a brand.
